Outline Syllabus: | - The mechanics of fire, smoke and dangerous gases.
- Fire extinguishers and hose reel equipment.
- Recognition of fire alarm activation.
- Actions to take on hearing the fire alarm.
- Calling the Emergency Services.

Training Method: | Group Orientated to include lectures, formal talks and demonstrations. These are didactic in nature and place a strong emphasis on the trainer's expertise and knowledge of the subject matter |
Participant Profile: | This course is a basic introduction to fire safety training. It is open and should be offered to all staff within a company on induction or with existing staff. As this is new to most people and in the interest of achieving to safe practice we recommend re-training every year. |

Over the past 5 years they have been involved in teaching a variety of course's within the private sector. They have a wide range of qualifications ranging from confined space's training to marine emergency rescue and are considered leading instructors in fire training. |

Assessment Method: | Ongoing assessment throughout which is Instructor verified and post course evaluation forms. Practical use of a Fire Extinguisher. |
