Programme Aim:

  

Heartsaver AED is a comprehensive course for the First
Responder designed to teach CPR, use of an automated external
defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction
(FAOB) to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to
respond to emergencies in the workplace.

 

Outline Syllabus:

  

  • This course teaches you the basic techniques of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • The relief of choking for adults.
  • A paediatrics CPR module can be added at the customer's request (additional 1 hr Training)

Training Method:

This is an interactive DVD led training course. Participants engage in mannequin practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of (AED) and physical practice of foreign airway obstruction.

 

Participant Profile:

It is open and should be offered to all staff within a company on induction or with existing staff. 15 people per day develop cardiac arrest in Ireland outside of a Hospital setting - it could happen within your organisation next. Course participants from many sectors from security guards, fire-fighters, police, commercial airline crews, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, and all other lay responders who have an interest and access to an AED.

Our selected trainers have been full-time professional fire fighters/Paramedics for the past 12 years. Over the past 5 years

they have been involved in teaching a variety of courses within the private sector. They have a wide range of qualifications ranging from confined space's training to marine emergency rescue and are considered leading instructors in fire training.

Ongoing assessment throughout which is Instructor verified and post course evaluation form.

 

Certification:
