One of the biggest challenges facing executives in today's organisations is helping people to do what they need to do in order to reach the organisation' goals and objectives.
Unfortunately, many leaders who are well skilled in managing the tasks and functions with which their businesses engage, are ill equipped to handle the people side of their enterprises - the "soft stuff". Many managers skilled in delivering on task issues are comfortable in dealing with objectives, performance measures and results, but they are frequently unprepared to meet the challenges required to liberate their people to deliver the outstanding achievements of which they are capable. Simply put, "the soft stuff is the hard stuff".
Provocative Leadership is about challenges. It is about challenging the taken-for-granted assumption that good organisational leaders are exceptional and difficult to find individuals. It is about challenging the degree to which organisations need to direct and control employees to achieve extraordinary success. It is about the challenge of continuous learning faced by those in managerial positions in modern organisations.
Starting from the perspective that "Leadership Development is Self Development", this programme explores the development of leadership as a personal learning journey. Utilising a range of learning methods and activities drawn from the fields of personality psychology, behaviour change, emotion management, and action learning, the programme provides participants with the self understandings and skills to enable them to achieve enhanced capacity to engage successfully with workplace colleagues in organisation, team or individual settings.
Delivered through six modules interwoven with in-depth coaching and practical leadership interventions, the Provocative Leadership programme explores key behaviours and intelligences that characterise leadership effectiveness.

The Provocative Leadership Programme is an ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) Endorsed Programme.
All modules will be assessed by means of module evaluations, a Leadership Log and a Leadership Interaction Report administered by Europa Academy.
The Provocative Leadership programme can accommodate no more than 20 participants in each delivery. Places on any single delivery are limited to a maximum of three participants per organisation. Potential participants must have a significant amount of work experience, a substantial portion of which will have been spent in managerial positions. Applicants will be required to submit an outline of why they are applying for the programme, what they hope to gain from their involvement and an explanation of how they feel participation in the programme will help their career development. The programme faculty will use this information to assess candidate suitability and allocate programme places. Admission to the programme will be at the sole discretion of Europa Academy.
